Location

Milton Lilbourne is an attractive village in the Pewsey Vale with a very fine Manor House and numerous thatched cottages. The cottage is in a very quiet location down a side lane opposite and old farm yard now used as a horse livery and stud business. The cottage backs directly on to fields grazed by sheep. The cottage is warm and comfortable, it is dog friendly by arrangement but be aware there is no enclosed garden.

The Pewsey Vale an unspoilt agricultural area in Wiltshire which runs between Devizes in the West to Buttermere (just south of Hungerford) in the East.  To the north is the Savernake Forest and the lovely historical town of Marlborough and to the south lies Salisbury Plan. Our holiday cottage is almost midway between the M4 and the A303, and we are about an hour and a half from Heathrow.

This is walking country with lots of paths and tracks, fields and woods to explore. There are lots of interesting places to visit and explore and things to do nearby. Some examples are Wilton Windmill, Crofton Beam Engine, Kennet & Avon Canal and, of course, Stonehenge.
